The Lightning Thief

Percy Jackson is not any ordinary kid. Once weird things start to occur in his life- his best friend has hooves, his substitute teacher is a monster, and someone close to him is a centaur- he seeks the truth. Soon, he finds himself at a camp for special, half-mortal children like him, and makes new friends... and new enemies.
Percy is the son of the Sea God, Poseidon. And he is the number one suspect of a serious crime. Zeus's lightning bolt has been stolen, and Percy soon finds himself on a dangerous quest that will change the course of his life- and everyone else's.

Action: 8/10 I have to admit, I really was looking forward to more action.
Detail: 8/10 I felt that the detail was not as clear-cut as I expected.
Plot: 9/10 Sometimes, I couldn't get a sense of the real plot, it was blurred.

Put together, the aspects of the novel were astonishing (in a positive way) but when you pick it apart, you realize the true roughness. However, I couldn't put it down once I picked it up.
