The Janitor's Boy

The Janitor's Boy is about a kid named Jack Rankin, who had the best nose in the whole school! When he walked through the door, he would take a sniff, and be able smell the lunch, right down to whether the Jell-O was strawberry or orange. After some research, Jack picked the smelliest gum, Watermelon Bubbalicious. Then, he did a few experiments on it.
Jack's dad was the janitor. Jack was embarrassed because his classmates found out about his dad. After he did all the experiments with the gum, he commited a crime. Then he got in trouble. Soon, Jack found out about his dad's history and how he became a janitor. After that, he found two keys. Where will these keys lead him? Read the Janitor's Boy to find out what happens next.

Dulcie's Taste of Magic

In this Pixie Hollow adventure, a baking talent fairy, named Dulcie, must find the ingredients to Comfort Cake, an ancient recipe, in order to save her job in the kitchen.
It all starts out one day when Dulcie is late for work, and uses salt instead of flour in one of her specialties. Then, when Queen Clarion tells her that she's been working her butt off and needs a vacation, Dulcie feels like she's being replaced. Later, that afternoon, Dulcie goes to the library and finds herself in the cooking section. She finds a mysterious, ancient recipe, called Comfort Cake, and decides to make it. However, as Dulcie collects the ingredients, she sees fairies in all sorts of hard, strenuous work, and she can't help but appreciate them.
After Dulcie finds all the ingredients, she gets to work, sneaking in the kitchen at night, baking and baking and baking. But will the Comfort Cake turn out all right, or will it be failure and permanent replacement for Dulcie?

"This book was quite magical and interesting, but it did not have much action at all. I prefer books with more suspense and/ or action."

Dunk

Chad Turner wants no more trouble in his life. He's gotten into trouble with the cops, teachers and other people. However, when Chad sees the dunk tank and the "Bozo," a sharp-tongued clown who throws witty insults at tourists, he begins to dream about a whole new kind of summer job.
